These night time routine tips can help you thrive

1. Create a sleep schedule

Go to sleep and wake up at the same time every day––yes, even on the weekends! Setting an alarm for the mornings (and even in the evenings as a reminder to go to bed) is a great way to stay on schedule. 

When you set a sleep schedule and stick to it, you may notice that you not only sleep better throughout the night, but that it’s also easier to fall asleep and wake up. This is because sticking to a sleep schedule regulates your circadian rhythm––your body’s internal clock that manages your wake and sleep cycles. 

 

2. Turn off the screens

The blue light waves that are found in natural light during the day help you stay awake and alert. Did you know? Artificial sources of blue light have the same effect! These sources include LED and fluorescent light bulbs and, you guessed it: electronic devices like phones, TVs, and computers.

Exposure to blue light is known to hinder your melatonin production––a hormone your brain releases to facilitate sleep. For better sleep, cut out your exposure to blue light 1–2 hours before bed. 

 

3. Take time to wind down

Take an hour before bed to do a relaxing activity, such as meditation or reading. When you eliminate stimulating activities and technology before bed, you should notice you have an easier time falling asleep. 

 

4. Consider incorporating CBD into your daily regimen
